loss of pigmentation was created by Cathy Fraleigh
Hi,

I have noticed a loss of pigmentation in my husband's eyes near the inside corner near his nose. He got covid in October of this year but hasn't felt good since. Is this a sign of a mineral deficiency, the loss of pigmentation? I thought it may be copper. My husband had an iron panel done and showed it was low. He has also developed loose skin on his elbows and his neck. Almost like his skin is too big for his body. I didn't know if this could be from anemia or have anything to do with the loss of pigmentation. Thank you for your help.

Hi Cathy

Skin pigmentation is usually associated with Calc Phos , Calc Sulph and Kali Sulph deficiencies. Usually, it associates with increased rather than decreased pigmentation though. There could be an underlying Kali Mur deficiency which often presents with a milky-white undertone under the eyes, and I suspect this could be what is making it appear whiter or paler than usual.

The iron loss requires Ferrum Phos with Calc Phos, and skin elasticity loss (feeling too big for the underlying tissues as sometimes also happens with weight loss) indicates a Calc Fluor deficiency.

I hope that helps.

Best wishes
Alison
